about travelling tailtiu
Travelling Tailtiu is a blog and magazine with articles about the places we have visited, the experiences we have had there and advice regarding transport or accomodation and so on, to give the reader an idea about whether they might like to visit, or maybe just something nice to read and daydream about!
There are three main aspects to the articles you find here, which are:
- That you get the feel of a place from the writer's experiences, observations and opinions.
- That you have some information regarding activities should you maybe decide to visit the place.
- That you have some idea of staying in or getting around the place, with information about transport links or accomodation.
- Travelling Tailtiu Blogazine also participates in Hostelworld's affiliate marketing campaign, so you may notice a few links to the Hostelworld website here on https://travelling.tailtiu.org. If you click through and make a booking, we will earn a small commission on any booking finalised. However, this does not affect the final price of any purchase. The idea of https://travelling.tailtiu.org is to provide the reader with an opinion on the various places or activities we talk about on the website or in our various social media campaigns. We also provide a few suggestions for how to get there, what equipment or clothing you might need, or accomodation, and this is also reflected in our affiliate partnerships, so that the reader can come to their own decisions about preparing for a trip, short or extended.
Tailtiu writes from the viewpoint of the travelling Irish, exploring the world as well as our own country, so you might find a few phrases in Hiberno-English here, which is our very own stamp on the English language. If you have any difficulty with some of the phrases on the blogazine, please feel free to drop us a line through the website or the Facebook Messenger here!
If you have a look through our articles, you might notice that we try to talk about all ages and traveller types, such as families with younger children, younger and older travellers, sightseers or adventure holidaymakers or extreme sports and watersport enthusiasts. We also talk about short-term and long-term travel, be it whistle-stop visiting, week-long or even settling in places for a longer period of time. We would like to provide useful informationand opinions for all types of traveller as well as writing something which you enjoy reading.
Who was Tailtiu?
Tailtiu takes the company name from an Irish woman of mythology who was a chieftain and associated with agriculture, which was an important industry in Ireland until quite recently. Here at Tailtiu, we hope to continue the Irish tradition of hard work and adventure as we engage with people internationally, engage with global cultures and offer an opinion or words of advice on where to visit or even stay for a while.
We hope you find something of interest here at Tailtiu and we look forward to engaging you all with work and play.
